November 2026 | October is National Diabetes Awareness and COPD Month
Diabetes has ravaged our communities and our individual families. I learned recently that almost 100 million of us have pre-diabetes, and many of us don’t even know it. Luckily in 2026, there are many resources to help us care for and reduce the “sugar” disease. Diet, exercise and healthy lifestyles all have significant effects on this condition that is tough to battle once it takes hold.
Speaking of vital organs, we need our lungs. 3 months ago, a member of my household was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It was not unexpected as they have been heavy smokers for many decades, a primary culprit in this horrific but often preventable condition. November is as good a month as any to make a commitment and get help to stop smoking. We need you to breathe! You need you to breathe!
