SDUIH Chief Behavioral Health Officer & Newest Board Member Help SD Honor Award Recipient

SDUIH’s Chief Behavioral Health Officer Ellen Durkin and newest SDUIH board member, Christian Skunk recently helped the State of South Dakota honor Dakota Indian Foundation Administrative Assistant, Kelly Larson, who was the recipient of the distinguished Ruth Ziolkowski Outstanding Hospitality and Customer Service Award in January. This award is given annually to four industry members, each representing one of the four tourism regions in South Dakota. In addition to sharing their talents at SDUIH, Durkin and Skunk sit on the Dakota Indian Foundation Board, a non-profit organization providing funding for the social enhancement and preservation of Indigenous Lakota/Dakota/Nakota culture, customs, and language.
