Don Lee accepted the Executive Director position at the SDUIH due to his interest in organizational design and refinement. After serving as the Human Resource Director for the Aberdeen Area IHS, Don developed an interest in the challenges of managing health facilities.  After his twenty-year career as a CEO for several Indian Health facilities, Don returned to Aberdeen SD where he accepted the Area Director position.  As the Area Director, Don had administrative responsibility for eight hospitals, seven health centers while serving 17 tribes and two urban programs with an annual operating budget of approximately $300 million.  After retiring from the IHS, Don accepted a CEO position with Ponca Tribe of Nebraska and moved to Omaha.  Don thoroughly enjoyed his five years of designing a health structure that served the health needs of the Ponca Tribe.  Don returned to South Dakota to be closer to family and currently resides in Sioux Falls with his wife Priscilla. Don enjoys walking, reading and taking an occasional road trip.
