Native American Heritage Month (NAHM)

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Indigenous people. Native American Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Indigenous people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which Indigenous people have conquered these challenges and found resilience.

There are many ways to honor and celebrate Native American Heritage Month. South Dakota Urban Indian Health has some ideas for you!
